Hi ladies, I appreciate all that you are saying here, but on the other side of the fence there are the ladies that answer, "I'd like to make an appointment for after 5pm?" with "don't be wasting my time, just phone me 20 minutes before you want to come"

Its a good note. So then we are here again about reading few lines in our advert.

Ladies had probably a lot of “no show” for bookings made in advance.

I get that all the time.
    Call me on the day.
    I call that morning.
    Call me nearer the time.
    I call 2 hours before.
I'm busy, I can only offer you 30 minutes.

People just dont know what word "now" means??? By asking this means you are at the location or at the door, never ask those questions and dont use word " now" if you not at the exact location in that time. Even if you are close by you should call or text :would you be available in 10-15 minutes? Sorry i know is short notice! would work better than the questions i started the thread with!
Literally my biggest pet hate. I just can’t deal and hang up in their face. I’ve learned not to dwell on it though and keep angry just move on the next second.

I think it’s the wording that is so annoying. If someone calls and asks if I’m free in 20 minutes that’s perfectly fine but if they call and ask “are you free NOW” it’s different

    Very valid.

It doesn’t annoy me because either this has happened to them, or they’re a bit dim or because people overwhelmingly think that it’s appealing, or they can’t write well or/and work a phone well, or they’re generally a non fussy person who doesn’t like or expect fuss, or they’re hasty, or they’re disrespectful. 5 out of 6, a good client could be. I simply don’t answer because there are easier messages to tackle if I have the energy at all and this guy doesn’t expect me to answer unless I am free and I’m not. Then, he’s moved on or he’ll be back. Some lengthen their messages next time around. Some send “are you free” again and again. I might investigate if it ongoing, some could send 3/4 in a month when I’m not advertising so it naturally makes me wonder which kind he is, how often he visits, and if he’s looking for me in particular or anyone. I have some very very good clients who’ve started with curt messages. The free part doesn’t bother me, I’m clearly not for free.

Each to their own i guess.

I plan, i need time out of work etc. "Free now" does not work for me.

But i do understand, you have an hour or 2 free unexpected. You could still phrase it better.

"Hi, i have unexpected free time, would it be possible to see you soon?"

Sounds much better than "free now?"

Plus people dont really think a lot of the time anyway lol.

Read the advert, do what it says, simple.

Lol, this thread made me think of a message I received a few weeks back. It was a “How much Fatty?” from someone I’ve never met. People are absolutely bonkers.

Oh nooo .... I just asked my hairdresser if I can call over now.

I suppose it is a way of saying things, no matter who you want to see/book/ whatever.

Of course, I totally understand different words could be used for the same outcome though, yet, sometimes, we just forget about it.
