Before you defend Wolverine, you might want to read the room Gonzo. Read the room and remember where you are. This website is extremely LGBT inclusive. It has designated gay and trans sub-sections. Its staff interviews trans women. In fact what's the first thing you or anybody sees when they visit any page of Escort Ireland? It's a link to Renatha Lopez's Escort Fans. Nobody else churned out better content than her for the month of January it seems, which is a huge achievement if you think about it because it perfectly illustrates that the trans movement is taking enormous forward strides.

It really isn't a good look for Escort Ireland as a website or a business if one of its members, in 2021, is using the word 'faggot' in a derogatory context. That word is to the LGBT community what the N word is to the black community. It's a weapon intended to hurt feelings and make the recipient feel abnormal, sub-human.

So no Gonzo, it isn't a worse look for General Lee Awesome for condemning homophobic language than it is for Wolverine using it. It's actually a much worse state of affairs if people huddle around Wolverine and shield him in my view, but this issue came up a few weeks ago and to this day you're the only person I've seen defend him. Everybody else read the room and realised it's impossible to defend on a website like this.

I've always found Wolverine to be a solid poster and a decent judge of character on here, quick to red bar and call out the trolls, maybe that's why some are having a go at him now 🤔, anyway it’s all a bit obvious, isn’t it?

I learned a few useful things from others here , Full Irish and Gonzo in particular , I was also at the start of all this closer to Tony B in my approach. However especially with new variants it has moved on . I still think at the outset a better solution might have been there but no point in that debate now

I feel for Doctors , Nurses etc , why? because even when we get covid under control they will face another war with waiting lists etc . For them there are years more to go of pressure and indeed trauma

At least our essential services will be more valued now and hopefully that will see increased investment in people and facilities, especially what trainee nurses are paid.

You were pointing out to the poster you were debating with that you didn’t need to use “disgusting homophobic sexist remarks to get your opinion across”

So I assume that was a pointed dig at him and that you didn’t agree with such words and slurs correct?

Based on that, I then pointed out that Wolverine is far worse and far more open with his use of homophobic slurs on this forum and has been for a long time.

I even linked in the evidence as you “claimed” you never saw him be openly homophobic on this forum. Since deleted by mods as his homophobic slurs/posts were deleted.

But yes, you’re right, it says more about me for highlighting and complaining about an openly homophobic, derogatory, gay hating poster than it does about Wolverine actually being that person.

Says more about you too Gonzo (and the rest) that you would rather have a pop at me instead of the actual homophobic slurs being posted by Wolverine.

So you wish to derail a thread about vaccines that is already heated by bringing up some grievance that I am not aware of no matter whether you "claim" I am, from some weeks ago thing that as I said "I have not seen", and "is not relevant to this thread".

If you have an issue with wolverine, and certainly anyone knowing our history knows we have a speckled past, so I can understand that, take it up with him personally or raise a separate thread about it.

Bringing it into a thread and completely derailing the discussion does say a lot about you.

You dont need to debate it, defend him or have a pop at me and then the thread wouldn’t be derailed?

Again, if you’re so worried about derailment, why don’t you have a word with Beautyaddict and his crusade against Westside bringing up things that happened years ago that had nothing to do with vaccines?

Just for the record, outside of here, I am doing more for vaccines than 99.99% of people on this forum. What I posted here about Wolverine isn’t going to have a detrimental impact on vaccine takeup in the country, so dont lose too much sleep over this thread.

BA can defend himself, however he was not replying to me in any post, and he was directly addressing Westside who was actively contributing to the thread.

Wolverine, to the best of my knowledge, has not been highly active on this thread, in which the homophobic comments only came up because of the specific comments of Westside which you "claim" you haven't seen but you "claim" wolverine posted much worse. Hmm.

You've basically used whataboutism to dig up a buried axe, and when called out on it, use whataboutism again to deflect, quite weakly I might add.
