Default Lockdown ends down South on Wednesday

    Hi,

Does anyone know if people from the North will be allowed South again ater the lockdown ends on Wednesday? Or, will the Garda still be turning NI travellers around.

It doesn't end. We are still meant to be restricted to travel withing our counties. Sucks for people living in the Dublin suburbs which are stretched out to Meath and Kildare.

We are just getting an extension from 5 km radius to our county lines. You stay your side and I'll stay at mine. Keep your covid and your wimmin and we keep ours.
To anyone that doesn't like me here.
I hope you need to pee 3 times tonight, but that you only wake up twice.

l though we were all Irish LOL and that everyone wanted a 32 county Ireland and no hard border... I must have got that one wrong!

There are lots of people from the South still shopping and driving around in the North. When the pups were closed in the South people from Donegal were coming to Derry and Strabane to drink.

It would seem that some of the good people of the South still think that we live in the "Black North" and it is OK for the South to impose border restrictions, but if the UK Gov. closed the border there would be outcry! I wonder are we as Irish people welcome in our own country, or not. Perhaps not..... I have encounted ant-Northern attudes in the past down South and I find it very hurtful.

Agreed. Lockdown isn't ending on wednesday and neither is covid.

And yes. There have been people breaking the rules. The areas you mentioned have seen some of the highest case numbers in the country. Wtf can't people act responsibly? Why can't people limit their contacts without legal enforcement?

I'm 58 and have always considered the North of Ireland to be a different country to the South. Schooling and history probably has a lot to do with. I not anti-North by any means, I've good friends in Enniskillen and Ballymore, and visit the North Antrim coast frequently...but I still look at the North as a 'different' place.... Different currency, different Government, speed limit in MPH and the worlds worst beers... lol ..... You're very welcome 'down here' when the restrictions are lifted... just don't bring your PM buddy 'mylastchance' or whatever he's called.. !!!!!

    Hi Canali,
As far as I am concerned we are all Irish my friend, it is one small lreland, but everyone is intitled to their own opinion and I totally respect that. That is the joy of free speech.

I have met a few blokes on here that name isn't one I know. I have not chatted to my pm mate in a while and got a surprise when I tried to contact him yesterday.......

I try to stay out of arguments here, there are a lot of touchy people that use the forum.

I have been thinking about and and think I will retire until covid is over....

    All the best, Joe
