Brazil has almost two and a half thousand deaths but you must remember this is a country with a population of 210 million .
    Are we there yet ?

True but the number are reported over several days, not all of those deaths happened in one single day. Plus at 406 new cases being the lowest number of new cases, we are on the right track.

The deaths lag the new cases, so it is the in flow of new cases that is the leading indicator of how we are doing.

All that said, I agree the restrictions will be slow in being lifted, as is proper, but the traffic light picture shown is a reasonable "plan" for how we begin to lift.

I would say the red phase will happen but very slowly and it will be dragged out for a while, perhaps till winter.

Dr Holohan seems smart from what i have heard him and Leo say. They know full fucking well that if you just open up everything again, you are going to have another lockdown further down the road.

Smart or not the country cannot afford to keep the population paid with no income coming in.

With reasonable measures a slow ramp up will begin, and so long as they keep good measures in place, like monitoring incoming travellers, keeping social distance and restricting gatherings of people, most business could probably return to some level of normal.

It would be naive to think the virus will disappear, the goal is to keep the amount of cases manageable.

I'm concerned that it might return to the full amount if they lift the lockdown soon. I see you can't approach reception desks now

With you 100% on the first paragraph. The history of bailouts for the wealthy from those shower at the expense of the ordinary people was criminal.

Leo told us no woman would have to go to court over smear test scandal, last I heard government was appealing the courts decision.

Noonan did the same with blood transfusion scandal. Waited for people to die rather than pay up.

A power grab now while people can't protest.
