Lockdown only slows the virus down, does not stop it. Unfortunately it seems unstoppable and probably will kill everyone it is able to kill eventually. Most of its victims, with the few inevitable exceptions, seem to be people whose health was somewhat fragile.

I had many of the symptoms of the virus back in March including a particularly bad 10 day or so period and I wouldn`t consider myself as being in a fragile health category. Obviously I am still here to tell the tale but there were some times back then when I thought I wouldn`t be.

I have heard from a Doctor friend that sometimes even a mild case can be rough. But then so can a mild case of flu. Most people who think they have the flu only have a cold. Even a mild case of flu will put you off your feet.
I would certainly agree that even a mild covid-19 is something you do not want. But in the long term it may be unavoidable.

This is the calm before the second wave. Come october it will return. Might not be too bad in Ireland.

    America will be rough.

We are only in the second inning of a nine inning match.

I read an article a few days back that this pandemic will pale in comparison to the next one. They think that the next one will come from avian flu and could kill as many as one in two or three.

In the long term a vaccine is the only solution unless the virus dies out by itself through the infamous herd immunity which is possible but unlikely. I have had the flu several times but have never been as knocked out as I was in March.

Holy fuck ! Are you related to the grim reaper by any chance ? It's probably a bit early to hibernate ?
    Are we there yet ?

Actually there has been a bird flu outbreak in Ireland in recent weeks. For obvious reasons it has got very little media coverage but let`s hope it doesn't jump species in a serious form like the Covid-19 did.
