I just stuck my head outside and the birds are singing. At half past midnight. Never noticed this before. Doesn't seem normal.
Perhaps there's a few birdwatchers on here that can explain or correct me on this.

I hope you need to pee 3 times tonight, but that you only wake up twice.
in all my years Phil, I near heard birds singing that time of night, not even Barn owls, maybe Chris Packham moved in next door

Seriously. I was out most of the night securing a premises that normally works 24/7. It was on the edge of a small midlands town, normally noisy machinery running all night. the other guys on the job noticed too. We reckoned that the birds probably didn't know what was up, it was so quite otherwise.

Have noticed it a lot over the years, more so in towns and cities. The amount of street lighting confuses the birds, making them think it is sunrise.

Its not singing, They are lamenting, giving out to us for ruining Planet Earth, did you notice how the wildlife has disappeared and how few birds are actually around now, not that many

At least you know that it's OK out as they aren't spooked. Animals are always the first to know
