" I meant nothing by offering to help and I'd help any member of staff." Repeat that at the HR interview. As the woman has made a complaint to HR, they have to act on it. You'll need to be very careful and unemotional at the interview. I doubt you'll be asked to apologise to the woman. This is the PC world we live in. Chivalry is neutered or dead.

They haven't been trying to get rid of me. Not trying to big myself up. But I'm very very good at my job. I'm with the company nearly 8 years, there's 20 maintenance lads not including the manager and 2 supervisors.
Of the 20 maintenance lads I'm the best of them all. I've the best breakdown repair % and the least amount of down time and product loss.

I've never had an issue staff member in question either up until now.

    Its completely ridiculous what's happening

I was even more surprised to learn that he was in only to see me and give me a formal letter stating I have a meeting with HR tomorrow at 3pm. Apparently when leaving the previous day at 2pm I committed an act of sexual discrimination against another employee in the company car park.
What was my act of sexual discrimination you ask? I said to a female member of staff her tyre was flat and if she wants I'll change it. She scoffed that she knew it was flat and her dad was on the way to fix it for her so I left and went home, and she went to HR to say I sexual discriminated against her for implying a girl couldn't change her own tyre.

The irony being she called her fucking dad to come change it so clearly I assumed right she couldn't change it.

My manager he had a chat with HR and there actually taking this "complaint" serious. He knows i meant nothing by offering to help and I'd help any menber of staff but unfortunately HR see it as a problem that needs to be stopped. The HR director will not allow inequality or gender based assumptions.

I've made it clear to my boss I won't be apologising or accepting any from of warning be it verbal or written.

Honestly what's the point of it all of you cant even offer to do something for someone with offence being taken.
    Something different but similar

Several years ago I was called into a meeting with the GM of a company and she laid out allegations an employee had made about me. After the initial shock set in I explained to the GM I was not an employee but a contractor and if she was unhappy she could terminate the contract per the contract with full payment. Turns out the bitch who complained had previous for false allegations.

Tbf to the HR department they probably have to take any complaints seriously. So they'd have to interview both parties involved.

If it happened like the op says and they take any sort of action then you can call bs on it...

Agree. It would be a poor organisation that didn't investigate such complaints. The OP is also being called to give his side of the story which is a good thing but understandably not a pleasant one for him.

If it is as he says it transpired, good sense should prevail.

On a secondary note, given the level of the alleged misdemeanour, they could have left this one to the New Year

    Happy Christmas everyone..

Don't know. This could be a bs post, highly unlikely you'd be called out for offering to help someone.

If you are up in front of hr for real I'd say you made your offer offer of help in an inappropriate way, or else you have a general reputation in work as a sleaze and she didn't like your approach.

My guess is this post is some kind of anti women bs to be honest.
