Yes if they are suspecting you of committing a crime( guilty of committing an offence in this case paying for sex) they can arrest you, but nobody have been arrested on spot or detained as i know... plus visiting an escort is not necessary paying for sex... people believe this but in many cases is not the case. Look for example Dominatrix or Massage providers, they dont offer sex, nobody pay for sex... not saying i have plenty of clients who come for strap on, light domination, Tie and Tease , watersports , role plays ... we all know is not only about sex, only general public believe is just sex because they dont know ! Only because a guy entered in a premises of an escort is not a prove he paid for sex ! Now for real, honestly not everybody come for sex . Anyway long in short if u guys consider its time to stop visiting girls then stop , we escorts can go in different other countries is not a big loss for us , u guys are the most to loose because this si exactly what the feminist groups wanted : to punish you , and unfortunately the decrease of number of girls showing they were right (not about pimps as this is a bull..s..it in public eyes) but with the reducing demand will lead to reduce supply ...just the basic rule of economy in any domain... today i was looking online and have seen indeed the number of escorts lowered a lot.... In ifsc just 2 girls ! and Dublin 200 when used to be 400 ..its a very big change indeed

At the end you miss the point, you are not telling guards anything, you are remaining as quiet as possible, you are not volunteering information, you were not visiting a massage therapist or your aunt .
The most you were ever doing was going for a walk.
And you do not sign anything that they tell you is only telling your story. If they feel they are investigating something that they may seek to prosecute then anything you say will be noted and written down and can be offered as evidence later,so the less you say and volunteer the better. All the time you are remaining pleasant and non -confrontational.

My business is private, my name is x, what reason have you to question me about my businesses? If you're suspecting me of a crime, maybe I should have a solicitor? My mobile phone is private, no I don't want to show it to you. I don't want you knocking on my friend's door for no valid reason, and don't want to give you their name or apartment number for the same reason. Their business is private and they have a right to privacy. If there's nothing else I'll be on my way.

Tony, Its depends how and what way they intend to enforce it but lets say worst case and depending on Guards involved and if out to really prosecute in this sting and you are just coming out of the escorts apartment and nabbed then there is not very much you can do, They really have all the evidence they need, its really like shooting fish in a barrel. You won't be able to explain your way out of it, too much against you here really
Its the name published in the papers that putting people off here, fines are nothing really and no one is worried about a fine even if it was 2k

Again you miss the point a little ,you are not silent but you are talking without revealing much. The less you say the less that can be held against you.You may indeed be allowed to move on,if they are persistent you are into minimising damage ,by getting into long convoluted conversations or giving some sort of made up story you are likely going to trip yourself up in some details or state something as fact that you cannot corroborate.By getting into some long confusing rigmarole you may be helping police to build a case ,if that is what they are attempting to do.
