I remember reading about it when it first happened. Asking to stay in places for free, in return they would give a good review and if the place refused they would send there "fans" to give them bad reviews. Some of the "social media influencers"had like 1k viewers but that was enough to do damage. I think the place in Dublin ending up banning all bloggers.

Is it just me or does she kinda have a point??

Lets face it,thats kinda the way some advertising works,if u have a following, which she does
u get stuff for free or get paid if u advertise the product
its how instagram stars make their money

even mega rich movie stars and celebrities get complimentary stuff that they could easily pay for
some celebs get paid a fortune to show up at a club for a couple of hours with the club having no real assurance it'll pay off for them

if even 10 of her followers used the hotel because of her recommendation, thats a profit
so it is sorta a business proposal and the blogger coulda just emailed back a polite no if they weren't interested or didnt
think it would be beneficial for them

to splash it all over his blog smacks a little of millennial faux outrage and virtue signalling on his side

i know i'm supposed to be righteously indignant like the guy in the video but im just not

Maybe im a millennial snowflake too!!

That was the hotel at the centre of the Garth Brooks concert rumours a few years back.
Judging from his blog he's well aware of the social media game and how to use it to drum up business.
As is the girl who instigated this, she milked it for all it was worth by playing the victim afterwards.

They both made out quite handsomely from it in the end.
So fake emotions and outrage for monetary gain all over the place, huh?!
    Colour me unsurprised!

She does come across as a little obnoxious which is unfortunate in her line of work, but I agree with you.
That whole millenial snowflake cliche is like all cliches, pretty lazy anyway.
They are the first generation that will overall be less well off economically and in standard of living than their parents.

We have practically placed the planet in meltdown with global warming and pollution and filling the oceans with plastic. So they can deal with that too.

Zero hours contracts everywhere, Huge rents, Prospects of owning a house way out of reach for the majority. That's nice.
They get to help pay off the national debt here. Lovely.

You can't blame them for trying to get creative in ways to earn a living for themselves. That or sell your soul to Google or Facebook or some other massive corporation call centre etc.
I think the hotel handled it badly and just wanted a "look at me" smug moment for themselves on the internet. Neither side comes out of it brilliantly. But I guess there's no such thing as bad publicity for either of them

The first comment was funny alright

Earning a living is not about getting freebies in hotels and weekends away.
Earning a living is about putting food on the table, keeping a roof over your head ,putting shoes on your children's feet and paying for their education ,keeping the wolf from the door.

So yes a self serving millennial scrounger ,that's probably allergic to any real work.A freeloader if someone else is stupid enough to carry them.
