To get an actual address is much harder and would, most likely, need access to the internet provider’s logs.
Most IP addresses are dynamic, that is they change. So you need the IP address, but the exact time. Although the logs are likely to be accurate, they are not accurate enough to be used as evidence. And knowing an address is not proof of who was using the computer.

As has been mentioned by other posters ( drbagehot and gonzo) it is stupid to be complacent, but I still think the simple, (relatively) cheap and low-tech (and low IQ) method is just to stake out some well-know and over-used location.

I regulary check my IP address that is displayed in your dashboard here and when I check the location of it, it has never given me a accurate location, gives my location as been in either Cork or Clonmel

Exactly I have been told by a sky technician that Eir needs to be contacted in order to get your exact IP address, anyway I dont think we xhould be saying too much about this on here.

As I said, you need access to internet prividers logs to get an accurate address and that is not obtained by using any software (which as you have discovered is often not very accurate). Your internet provider has your address on file because you gave it to them.

He accessed his account from the business where he worked which had a static i.p. address. The escort knew his username from contact with her. Easy to identify him from a staff line up.
I do agree there is no need for panic. Will you continue to review?

    Well, that explains it.

And yes, I will continue to review. This is not supposed to be a Theocracy. Power to the people and all that. Don't let (the unpleasant people ) grind you down.

A good VPN sorts that problem out. I have used Hotspot Shield.
Not true they also can tell what area you are in, the smaller the area the easier to track.

Does not matter your reviews tell a different story. Unless you are going to stop reviewing.
