There seems to be a lot of connections with the poultry and dairy industries , maybe she would have approved of the RHI scheme in the North ? Not a mention of escorts or punters though

    Ahh
Imbolic Day. The celebration of the White Goddess Brigid and the turning of the wheel. It is the halfway point between winter and spring. A good time for spring cleaning and practising love magic. Yes even spring cleaning comes from paganism . Also know as Groundhog Day in America. Where they trust a rodent coming out of a hole in the ground as to when the wheel will turn
At the Hill of Tara the 5000 plus year old carin , the mound of hostages will light up tomorrow when the sun rises. This happens also during Samhain (Halloween) or all saints.
    Blessed be fellow pagans!

Thanks Liberty, I had forgotten that today is groundhog day or candlemass day as I would remember it as. I remember as a child going to Mass and getting candles blessed. There was a saying "Candlemass day fair and clear means two winters in 1 year" so I hope that it rains today(it's blowing a gale atm!). Probably something similar started the groundhog tradition of looking for his shadow. Also in Ireland St Brigid's day was considered the first day of spring. I have to say that I am very impressed with your knowledge of Irish history/traditions Liberty.

Imbolic translation has direct reference to ' in the belly' when the grass starts to grow and sheep start lactating. It's a celebration of the first stirrings of spring in the womb of Mother Earth and the recovery of the Goddess from giving birth to the sun at Yule. And marking the start of farming season.
