Shalom/salaam.
10,000 years of Middle Eastern civilisation and the place is not at peace but rather in pieces.

One of "The Disappeared"
The one everyone forgets.
He was an Irish-bred, British-trained racehorse, and winner of the 202nd Epsom Derby (1981) by ten lengths – the longest winning margin in the race's history.
On 8 February 1983, he was stolen from the Ballymany Stud by the Provisional IRA.
The theft carried was out with a lot of violence towards the personnel at the stud. The IRA demanded a £5 million ransom from Shergar's owner, the Aga Khan
The Aga Khan refused to pay because he wanted to deter future thefts.
The IRA decided to release the horse, but the thieves felt it was impossible to move Shergar or free the horse near where he was held. They also thought the horse to be injured, and decided to kill it.
But the IRA were inexperienced in handling racehorses and with no knowledge of humane euthanization techniques, opened fire with a machine gun. A former IRA member involved described the scene to The Sunday Telegraph: "Shergar was machine gunned to death. There was blood everywhere and the horse even slipped on his own blood. There was lots of cussin' and swearin' because the horse wouldn't die. It was a very bloody death."
A pit was dug in the mountains near Ballinamore, County Leitrim. The body was dragged into it and quickly covered over. No markers were left at the grave.
As a consequence, the Aga Khan removed all his horses from Ireland and stated that he never would stable any of them there again.
