Ask Consent Initiative.

A campaign to encourage people to ask for consent before engaging in sexual acts is being launched this morning by Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald.
While I agree with the Initiative, it seems hypocritical coming from Frances Fitzgerald, and especially at this time.

Well in the north everybody's still working away so ???
It was never going to come into law yesterday.
It would still have to be passed by the Dáil before it would do so. To be honest, it's an extremely long bill with everything that's in it, it's not something that'll be passed overnight. Also when you think of the current time, with the budget looming, the same sex marriage legislation etc. and most importantly the election early next year, it's likely to be delayed substantially even if it was published yesterday.

Bill is only published , has to be debated and passed in Dáil and Seanad and then signed off by the president (as it will be).
It will go into the queue of Dail business so we will wait and see when it pops up again.
If it were end of the world stuff it could be rushed through but will most likely take its place in the queue.
As stated above it is not law yet.

I didnt think it was, my sincerest apologise for not using the correct terminology. I did just want to know if what the OP stated had happened.
