Yes it was a fair question and fair play for answering honestly.

But in all fairness it does read like a back slapping exercise in homophobia.

Maybe some people need to take a look at themselves and realise there views can be quite offensive.

I have seen many comments and opinions on this forum that I find highly offensive, much more offensive that a few guys saying they don't like mincing queens

First of all I'm not going to single out any individual poster.

Second I have thought hard about bumping this thread.

I was brought up in a liberal household. I was thought what goes on behind closed doors is nobody's business but there own.

But as I have gotten older I have come to realise my view 'behind closed doors' is not so liberal and understanding of people as society has moved on.

The in your face, look at me 'I'm gay and proud' attitude I found very distasteful. Until I realized I was the one with the problem.

We are now bombarded in the media about gay people & gay issues and I think this is only a good thing as it makes people more aware of a section of society that has always been with us and always will be. We are not living in 1950's Ireland anymore, this is how it should be.

As for some posters unease and distaste for gay men that act like 'puffs' I think that says more about you then them.

I have never been apart of the gay scene and to be honest new very little about it until I joined here and read some gay scene threads (very interesting & informative & shocking at first). I would suggest some posters should educate tthemselves.

'I voted No for the children' I have never read so much rubbish in all my life. It's up to you as parents to educate your children.

As for the comments about children being bullied in school. School is very different now to when I was in it and I strongly suspect that children and young people's attitudes are very different and more understanding then when the majority of posters on here were at school.I think it was the young peoples vote that made a yes vote possible.

It's a new world and it's time some people moved on with it.
