What about giving posters the tools to delete their own posts, surely someone's peace of mind comes before "a few threads not making sense"

Why do escorts not care about the circumstances of reviews being deleted? I am very confused by this, I thought they care about clients? surely a client who wants peace of mind and to walk away takes priority over a review? are they that valuable reviews?

Smoking in a pub doesn't carry quite the same stigma though.

I would have thought much longer and harder about registering if I knew (i) this would soon become illegal and (ii) I would not be able to shut down my account and walk away.
But it isn't illegal at the moment and upon signing up, there is an option to tick to agree to the terms and conditions of the site, of which include:

    Deleting Your Threads / Posts
We are regularly asked by users to delete threads they have started and posts they have made. This takes up our time and is confusing and irritating to our other users who have taken part in the discussion that you started and now want deleted. Please don’t create threads and make posts that you will want removed at a future date as we will not do this for you.
If you are someone in a relationship looking for sex with escorts, do we really need to guide you through a discretionary procedure? Do you think someone's wife will say, "Oh, okay, you weren't to know! I'll let you off because I technically shouldn't have caught you out because the website didn't clarify that."?

Jack Jones, the butcher, is concerned his posts on Escort Ireland may be monitored by MI5, CIA and KGB, and SPECTRE......

    Two points.

Firstly, I'm sure there was a box to tick with terms and conditions. I've already said that. Do you read every "Read here for terms and conditions" box that pops up on a website? I doubt anybody ever has. You can unsubscribe from other illicit websites like Ashley Madison and so on, it was a fair assumption to make that you would be able to do that on this website too.

Secondly, I obviously don't think, as you put it, "someone's wife will say, "Oh, okay, you weren't to know! I'll let you off because I technically shouldn't have caught you out because the website didn't clarify that?" That's got nothing to do with the point I was making, and you can't base your argument by countering points I never made in the first place. We're all aware of the need for discretion. I'm simply saying it could have been made more explicitly clear to people when they signed up that they could never un-sign.

I already assumed that you would come back with the "Who reads the T's and C's anyway?" Well, by ticking that you accept when you didn't bother to see what you were agreeing to, you have already made the first big mistake. As for your second point, you should have read the first point.

Surely, the only thing that needs to be deleted and erased is the members IP address?

    is that possible?

Why would you need to, if you aren't committing a crime?

Disappear? There isn't going to be a mob turning up in black vans to kidnap you and give you a pair of concrete boots!
