That's fair enough then. Again, I wasn't pointing the finger at you personally, I was just surprised at how people in general, that are receiving welfare, could afford to visit an escort. Sure I'm working full-time and I can just about afford it but only when I sacrifice other things like going to social events or gigs etc.

If that's how you justify your own lack of motivation to yourself, by blaming the unemployment rate/recession/economic downturn, then I truly pity you. You said yourself you had THREE interviews in the last three months and have not worked for six. Believe me, there is plenty work there for those who are willing to get off their lazy arses and find it. Barring illness or injury there is no way in a million years it would take me or any motivated person, 3 (or 6??!!) months to find work if I was unemployed. And Just so you know, unemployment was far higher at stages in the mid eighties so do your homework before you go talking about highest unemployment rate ever.

Yes I do declare all earnings. My accountant pointed out a LEGAL way that I could avoid paying redundancy but I chose not to allow the state to shoulder my burden and paid them myself because it was the right thing to do. What's your point here, really?? I have never once fiddled the system or taken anything that I was not entitled to or had not earned.

And I don't see how you can claim builders messed up this country?? You're telling me that working tradesmen, block layers and labourers are to blame for the recession?? I think you mean property developers. BIG difference.

How patronising. There are over 300,000 on the dole. Imagine if all those peolpe applied to McDonalds tomorrow, would you expect them to get a job there...?

Indeed I know two person who got a hospitality job less than a week, also know someone who turned down two interviews as he already got hired in few days time.

As I said hospitality jobs, mainly minimum wage, but still a job.
    Good bye Ireland!

Community work is done by people on CE schemes and tidy town volunteers usually.

I've done a jobbridge for 9 months no bother and was not even offered a 3 day week as an actual employee, instead i got a slice of cake and cup of tea.
Honest to god, if there was a hole in the ground big enough i would have jumped right into it.
Your expected to work up to around 40hrs a week for 238€ which i did when required.
People lashing out at those who are not motivated to work because dole is to good should spend amonth on it to see
    how much they like it.
