well he did say "i'll play 5 gigs or i'll play none" i find it hard to believe 400,000 people
wanted to visit his concerts, but how utterly dysfunctional to have to cancel all that related business.

Yeah but I thought that was just brinkmanship so that he would get the 5 concerts.

Whatever about the business end of it, it does show one thing and that is a total lack of respect for his fans.

While I dont think cancelling two of the days and now all of it is fair I have to say I sympathize more with the residents. In college I was on campus for awhile and someone else goodnight meant no sleep until 4 or 5 am. With all the events held there the residents have their lives disrupted year round, its very easy to judge when its "not in my back yard"
The beauty of the internet is that there is always a 'close' button.

So typically Irish. Tickets are sold, and then permission looked for. Millions now lost in revenue, but the person who made the call, as in the county manager, keeps his highly paid, over pensioned position. And we wonder why we had a banking crisis. Ironically there's a reshuffle going on in government, well, shuffle them all out and close the doors of the Dail. We DON'T have leadership in Ireland,we have fire brigade governance. If we had leadership this wouldn't have happened.

I had no idea about concerts, why was this not covered by the media, ohh silly me sure the economy is fecked so as this would not bring revenue it is not important.

Don't know if its typical Irish or not, but he announced the concerts LAST January, if the rule is only three concerts in Croke park, why didn't he announce only three beside greediness, also probably three One Direction was booked there at same time isn't it?! Everyone knew its going to be eight gigs, in relatively short period of time, who and why let it happen???

Feel sorry for people who spent a night on streets just to get tickets
