Why is this tread still going?
In summary, 2 ladies from here held a small protest to try and get the Oiresachtas Committee studying Prostitution to listen to the views of actual sex-workers, and these two ladies were interviewed by the media, while maintaining their anonymity. The TV news slot lasted less than 2 minutes and included a very quick interview with the two women and some views of them holding up slogans reinforcing their message as a well as a view of them walking away focusing on, lets be honest, their arses.
What we get here is some bullshit about clothes.
The law in this country may be changed whereby a person paying for sex will be prosecuted, leading to otherwise upstanding citizens being made into criminals. This could have serious consequences for us and our families including embarrassment humiliation, ridicule, losing jobs being put on sex offenders registers. Judges in courts could fine people and give the money to Ruhama and some judges might make people walk up and down streets with signs saying things like 'I pay for sex'
Anyone, especially the two ladies already mentioned who stands up publicly against this tyranny deserve our thanks. So thank you Rachel and LaBelle
