The ONLY place n the world is Ireland, where they think seasons end differently. Now the rest of the Globe says :

December,January,February WINTER
March,April,May SPRING
June,July,August SUMMER
September,October,November AUTUMN

In Ireland, the summer months according to the national meteorological service, Met Éireann, are June, July and August. However, according to the Irish Calendar summer begins 1 May and ends 1 August. School textbooks in Ireland follow the cultural norm of summer commencing on 1 May rather than the meteorological definition of 1 June.

So just because it is called a tradition doesn't mean you are right. Just 2mil people on the planet knows about it... it is called TRADITION. And by the way it was never summer, so the autumn couldn't start today, as it is always AUTUMN. Remember i do come from a country with 4 seasons AND I KNOW BETTER WHEN THEY END AND WHEN THEY START. It is right. I repeat for the 5th time. In the Gaelic/irish calendar !
Which means is valid in Ireland. Which is only a very small percentage of the population of the world. the rest of the world goes after the Met Eireann measurements.
Theoretically is autumn, in ireland. Practically is Summer, here and the rest of the world.

After our romanian tradition dracula is a vampire (theoretically) practically he is another mortal, a killer.

We have traditions as well as all the cultures.

Sorry but even if we are in ireland i am still Romanian! And even the Irish meteorological center admits that is summer. Now some tradition will not change the entire population opinion. That would not make August an Autumn month. Never. I guess i brought enough arguments so i cannot be contradicted. You are part of those 2.5 mil population of Ireland that knows about that tradition. I am part of the 7 billion that knows is summer.
