It seem to me the site is run very well and is dynamic at making changes which is a good thing. I understand that this change is being done for the right reasons and hope it will be successful.
I am also confident if it is seeming to cause problems it will be most likely changed back. But I will always only see girls with verified photos and reviews.
Allow me to explain.
Clients won't be privy to this as much as escorts, but what is happening is that we are receiving an usually high amount of escorts complaining that they are being threatening with negative reviews for reasons including a refusal to discount their service, refusal to take it up the arse when the don't list it or if they decline a booking over the phone. It's like some sort of new fad. Escorts are being exposed in the media and want to cover up their faces or not be listed as verified for fear of being published in the Irish Independent or being shown on the Paul Connolly show. All the while, they don't want to jeopardise their business by opting out of reviews.
Now to combat these problems on behalf of the escorts, we felt that this is urgently required. I can tell you with complete confidence that MOST of the fake profiles accept reviews ANYWAY, so I don't see this as an issue. We have also implemented a better system of keeping a record of photo activity behind the scenes so that we can monitor the changes in verification images, so if profile swapping occurs, we will know about it.
As for the Warning Section, we have no choice but to tighten things up. Whether you agree with it or not, it became more of an 'arena' for the entertainment of a handful of posters rather than actually be used for its intended means. On top of that, we had clients posting things from the comfort of their keyboards, implying that escorts are probably trafficked or pimped rather than reporting it to the people that can investigate these things. Are we supposed to take the word of every client with two or three posts posting these warnings from a masked IP address? Most things are posted without proof anyway, and as for the screen shots not being allowed, we were finding that escorts changing profiles for safety reasons were being outed publicly; it is one thing to report a genuine concern, but quite another to pry into the personal details of escorts generally to the extent that a couple of years shaved off their age is regarded as a 'detectable issue'. Just to finally add to this point, most of the highlighted profiles had unverified pictures anyway. Clients need anonymity, so why should escorts always have their cover blown? Why post about illegal activity rather than report it? Any pimp in the know would simply check the Warning Section on a daily basis to make sure that they 'in the clear' would they not?
Escorts will probably agree that it is the clients that make or break them; they can destroy their reputation and livelihood by simply posting a few words on an anonymous internet forum and it's not always fair. JohnRambo and thehighwayman do a very good job dealing with the reviews system, but being honest, if an escort contacts me or Nicole and queries a review, we read through it and we think it's a load of bollocks (even if the reviewers do not have an IP match to another account or not using a masked IP), we will delete it. This has to work both ways.
I've said this many times already, but I hate the fact that escorts are reviewed anyway, but I understand its purpose and many people heavily rely on the system. Clients have too much power. Fake reviews, posting stories about escorts that aren't necessarily true (by the way, nobody has yet contacted us about this 'under age' escort this one-off poster reported out of the blue) and trusted reviewers expecting discount, using their 'credibility' to threaten a bad review if it isn't.
Patricia thought she would point out that we are actually trying to improve our systems. We expected a handful of posters to complain wondering what the ulterior motive is. If people don't trust the verification system (which is a guideline anyway, not an absolute), stick to your regulars.
There will never be a Utopia and people work very hard to try and find a loophole in everything. That's always the way. There's always someone trying to get one over on someone else.
