As above, but just to add that there are duo profiles used by independent escorts. Perhaps this has legal implications?

And how is that the way forward?

* You would be happy for your client to be arrested outside your apartment door?
* You want punters to be afraid to punt? and have the inconvenience to have to cross the border.

This kills business for the genuine independents in Ireland.

Anything that is illegal will encourage criminal activity, we need to be more liberal thinking!

No i would not be happy with my clients being arrested outside my door. I do want them arrested when visiting young foreign girls woking for pimps like the one highlighted last night.. I do want them to be afraid of visiting trafficked woman.. I do want the numbers of escorts down and I do want the rates to go back up... Clients are not going to agree with me on this one. and guess what it is not up to me or you anyway... Like lucy said we will jsut have to wait and see what happens... Who know maybe there will be a whole new Europeon law brought in by the hague or something to cover all of europe on laws regarding
prostitution

The point is often made on these forums that posters like me are in a small minority of punters who care for the escorts we engage with.

That may be true. But I'll be honest, I wasn't always a poster and it's only through circumstance I got to take more of an interest in the real people who I was paying to have sex with. I bet that's quite common amongst the more responsible posters here.

I still think I have a viewpoint which is valid, recognises that prostitution is unlikely to be eradicated in our time regardless of whether that would be a good thing or not and can offer an opinion on how at least clients who wish to act responsibly can do so without fear.

All a bit Utopian but if a debate is going to had...

This is Ireland, off course they will!.....and after a few hours stakeout, they pop over to the Stillorgan dual carriageway and get ya for speeding! :P

Easier to confront punters rather than pimps....and thats all that will happen!

There are of course friendly Gardai out there too, but these are few and far between. It's like with anything... there's good and bad in everything.

the police visit each and every woman that works in sweden. they will come and your phone must be registered to yourself and you must have a scandianvian passport or europeon. In scandinavia you must show your apssport to get a phone sim.. They are not stupid cops and they know when a woman is working for herself or for traffickers... If they simply do not like you they will tell you , 'you can stay but we will arrest each man who you see. The lady then leaves
I have residents visa for ireland which give me rights to work anywhere in europe in case you are wondering how I am able to work there..

But is this not the possible/probable effect of the swedish type law which you called for to be imposed and were 'thanked' by many other escorts here ?? I really find it difficult to tie down your position on this.
