Great post ber.I think its also worrying to see how a sort of preemptive attempt was made to make a joke out of the documentary particularly seeing it being posted by a manager of this site and also some of the subsequent posts that followed.Some of the posters who thanked patricias initial post have been very quiet as regards what has been discussed, funnily enough these posters were also the ones who thanked jamescork post about his "next punt"

Good Jesus "a very good thorough piece of journalism". It was as biased and skewed as any piece Prime Timw has ever done. It was carried out in a manner to characterise per editorial requirements.

I view it as yet another opportunity missed to have an open discussion about all the issues associated with escorting.

Then again what do I know? I only have half a brain.

Whilst I appreciate your opinion I really can't see how you can be so sure. If it were as simple as independent escorts declaring it on their profile because a controlled escort would never have that declaration, we wouldn't have the problem that we so obviously have.
Seriously, How do you know I am the person behind the Heather profile. I could be anyone, controlling 20 profiles or more, including Heather's. I could be communicating with punters on here and by phone & email on behalf of any number of profiles. I don't think you would know it.

List A -- I could do a list of escorts where I would bet my bottom dollar ( no pruuuuuf ) that the communicator is the escort herself ('indie')

Saw a few mins of it, will watch the rest later, just one thought, am I the only one that thinks a young black lady being forced into prostitution claiming she has nobody to turn to yet can give an interview on camera without fear of being recognised by her persecutors is a bit worn out. Am I being a bit hard on her by thinking a percentage of these ladies are just crying wolf for alterior motives and are doing the genuine trafficked ladies that you are unlikely to ever see on film a dis-service and diluting public sympathy in the process?

Arrived to work about an hour ago did the usual stuff with the staff the morning coffee and what was being talked about Primetime last night. For me some of the comments about the people that use this service was a bit hard but played along with the whole thing. One thing that came into my mind driving in this morning was a question to the touring ladies in particular you obviously don't rent apartments all over Ireland so who provides you with the accommodation and how sure are you these people are legit not dis respecting anyone here but in light if last nights program it's a fair question. And also I said last night I would be leaving the fun and games for a while here but I felt writing this was important.
Already I have read this morning in paper that the discussion papers for the changes in law are being prepared so it's only a matter of time now all it needed was that bit if drive from the public and last night from what I have heard it will achieve that.
Let's be honest we all had a great time !!!!

u need to watch it all, it was for once a good enu piece, biased as they did not discuss that there is in fact women who want to do this, but none of us expected that,

there was hard proof, and the new law will prob be here soon enu, which for me is the worst thing that cud happen, as without this i cant afford collage

While I believe that there should be a more "open" and mature approach in Irish society for the women and men who engage in sex for money I cannot in all honesty use this site in the future. I will be seeking a permanent ban on my profile today. EI's role is morally indefensible.
Can I ask how the genuine independent ladies will respond to the moral dilemma they are now confronted with. can you continue to support EI by way of advertising fees.?

It isnt about supporting EI, its about supporting ourselves. Besides, judging form the statistics the programme showed, there are so few of us that we hardly matter.
