What about spoilt votes, how do I do it?

This is one occasion when I'm going to the poling stations without a proper conviction of who to vote for. Thankfully I don't think the Presidency matters too much. (Apologies to those who think otherwise).

I actually feel like voting for none of the above! But as a point of principle, I believe in exercising my voting right, so will have to give my vote to someone.

My decision has been one of exclusion.

Dana? Are you kidding me? She has true convictions. But those convictions aren't mine. Plus she always sounds like she might start crying.

Mary Davis? I hate to sound sexist (but of course I am!) but I think we need a change in Aras an Uachtarain. Plus she mentioned one of the things she would like to champion is the trafficking of women. A noble cause, except I wouldn't be surprised if her idea of trafficking is similar to Ruhamma's i.e. every escort is a trafficked woman!!!

Martin McGuiness?? I reckon Sinn Fein wants to take over the country - both in the North and South. Unclear why they have decided to venture down South after years of involvement in the North . The cynic in me says power hungry politicians. Anyway he will never escape his past, and we don't need a more tribunals involving our president this time! Plus he is an ultra - socialist. His views wouldn't be far off communism IMHO.

David Norris? To be honest he had been my favourite when he was struggling to secure his nomination. However, now that I've had ample time to hear him speak, I am bored to tears! He doesn't say anything different and appears to be purely anti - establishment. Someone needs to tell him that the Presidency is part of the establishment. You can't go bad mouthing and critisizing the government when you are president.

Michael D?? Nothing personal, but I just can't stand his voice. Plus I think we might have to cough up an expensive state funeral if he gets elected. And I will never vote labour.

Sean Gallagher? Fianna Fail to the hilt. Manages to say a lot without saying anything. Shady banking transfers. Hence I think he will make the ideal President!


SO I think I'm going to vote Sean Gallagher no. 1. Don't know if I'll give any second preference votes yet.

If both live to 90. Michael D's pension will be around €1,000,000 and Gallagher's around €5,500,000 after one seven year term.

So to acknowledge Gallagher as a crook; not like Mr D's voice and vote for Gallagher is as crooked as Gallagher himself. IMO allegedly etc.
