    To be fair, while Dublin doesn't have the grandeur of London/Paris/Prague etc I wouldn't call it ugly.
    I've traveled all over the world & seen many places that make Baile Atha Cliath look like Florence in comparison ( try Bratislava or Dallas )
    Also Dublin is unique (at least in Western Europe) in being a capital city with the ocean on one side & the Mountains on the other.

    Certainly parts of it have been reclaimed but I am not sure about it all.
