Lets not rush to judge one person in this.
A lot of us have to take our share of the blame and guilt.
And none of us know how someone like *name removed by patricia* got mixed up in this disgusting mess.
The girl I knew had a very warm side to her that is very real.

Amy, I understand what you're saying. And there is more we as punters can do. Some of us may be happy to meet only a few girls, that we are convinced are truly independent - either through meeting in real life of communicating here on the boards.I am disgusted. But, for many punters 'playing the field' is part of the kick of visiting escorts. At roughly 100 euro for half an hour and a web site making it so easy to call girl after girl, chances are you will end up with an escort that is certainly pimped and maybe also here against her will.
The answer is to use common sense, switch on the brain and not only the little head, and show some restraint - and I just can't imagine the majority ever doing so, imho.

I don't think many of us 'knowingly' supported this. But are you saying you were 100% sure of every girls background that you visit?
And there's a fine line between enjoying what they do and making the best of the difficult situation some of the girls find themselves in.
I'm not naive about this. I have some unfortunate history in this world from a couple of years back which i thought made me more aware of who was who in this city but Ive still got it badly wrong on this occasion.
To say things are not black and white is a massive understatement.
I don't have any answers though.
All I know is I've visited my last escort. She was beautiful, fun, 'enjoyed herself', we chatted, all of the stuff that re-assures us that what we are doing is fine. But who knows for sure that it is?

Notatwork, it's yourself who should make an attempt to get real. You can't put every escort in the same boat as Selena and her scumbag pals. It's not enough to say that you won't 'knowingly' visit any of 'these girls'.
You have to use your discretion, for instance there are some very obvious locations/appartments that are supicous. If you go to any of these and the girl doesn't volunteer to you that she is being trafficked, then it's still not right to turn your head the other way.
There are lots of other signs where if you use a bit of cop-on, you will know who to avoid.
If you don't even bother to consider these types of questions, then your actions are tantamount to rape, it's as simple as that.
I know I sound holier than thou, but I dont mean to, I am just as guilty as any guy here. Up until recently I have hugely enjoyed punting using this site. I certainly never gave an escort's circumstances any thought, believing that any verified girl here, was as legit as you can get in this industry. Bruno I applaud your decision based upon your own moral compass and feelings, you are adopting the precautionary principle and that is commendable. However, the situation regarding human trafficking stretches way beyond the escort business. If we are to stop doing things because the service providers may be trafficked we will not eat take away food, not visit houses or offices cleaned by certain companies, indeed not stay in certain hotels and have to make damn sure our friends au pairs are not being forced to stay in the job because they hold the work permit for the unfortunate girl.
I hope that your decision brings you some comfort, I would caution against shame as it is a negative emotion that has little positive for anyone.

As Andy says, none of the girls he has visited was here against her will, and I concur with my experiences. But, with recent events it is all becoming only too clear that maybe some of these little honies were being rather naive. Offered a career choice to move to Ireland, make a langerload of cash and all you have to do is give us a share... All sounded good until it started to go pear shaped...
All the girls I know that got caught up in this were honies. Certainly were not here against there will or under any duress at the time...

There's no comfort in this decision for me Doodlebug and I'm not on a moral crusade. That would be truly ridiculous.
I'm not going to say much more on this either because I'm conscious I may harm soneones legitimate business also.
My last word ( maybe ) is that the real independents may need some new way to differentiate themselves from those that claim to be but aren't.
Not sure how this can be done but worth a debate I think
