id also like to say different cultures have different views
following muslims dont drink alcohol at all but i know of many that smoke marijuana, not secretly, the whole family would and personally i dont see any harm where as some of the alcohlic families here well they destroy their family inc kids in some extreme cases
and same in spain we wernt allowed drink in front of my friends dad but smoking wasnt a prob, they actually grew the stuff and same it was just a social relaxed way of life

I think talk of 'all drugs' being a problem is just far too broad a spectrum. Really then you need to include cigarettes and alcohol which do more damage then a lot of the illegal stuff.
Most of us, imho, would agree that hard drugs like heroin or crack are a plague on society and should be stamped out if at all possible.
Retired from punting, yet still here?

Jeez, it must be the sun or something, heavy stuff for a gorgeous saturday. I don't drink or do drugs, never did and probably at this stage never will. That having been said, I don't object to either. My take on drug including head shops is legalise them, regulate them so you can control what goes into them and take the tax revenue from the sales of them. When you ban them you criminalise them and drive the quality underground as well as those who use them. Interesting to see so many people who have reduced their alcohol intake. There is a serious hypocrisy in this country regarding alcohol, it's fine to be drunk occassionally and we even secretly applaud those who do stupid things while drunk but let them use drugs and its tut tut. I am lucky I have never needed the buzz from either and I am often regarded as the drunkest person in company as I enjoy good company.
