Is this legal? I have read that as long you are visiting a girl in her private apartment where no other girls work then its legal to pay for sex in Ireland, if this is the case why do the girls state you are paying for their time only and anything that happens after that is a matter between consenting adults, my question if its legal to visit an Independent girl thats working alone in an apartment then why do they say this?
I have heard that even though this is legal that the gardai take upon themselves on the odd occasion to hassle some girls and put the fear of God in some guys
Has anyone here had any personal experience of getting into trouble with the gards visiting an Independent girl
The thoughts of getting caught doing something wrong even though its suposedly legal, having to go to court and my family and work mates finding out really freaks me out at the same time I havent had a ride in nearly a year so im gaging for it :-)
Welcome Johnny to the E-I forum boards.
The law in Ireland is as you've stated, highlighted in blue above. Although as Forrest has pointed out, soliciting sex for money (which I presume means advertising) is illegal.
Escorting and the law will always be one big gray area. And even if the activity is on the right side of the law, there is still the social stigma associated with it (as you mentioned - it's no good friends and family finding out).
The law and implementation of the law are also not necessarily the same thing. An over zealous Garda sergeant in a small town may take it upon himself to hassle escorts, while in a bigger city, escorts may just blend in and go unnoticed. So again it depends where you are living and planning to see escorts. Also there are some judges that will take it upon themselves to prosecute cases (of alleged brothel keeping, where two girls work together) and others who thankfully will have better things to do.
And while paying for sex may not be illegal - using a residence for business purposes is!
So disgression is the better part of valour here - and the ladies advertising for their time and companionship - just makes sense (rather than being explicit). Although everyone knows what the score is. There is a set of pneumonics of services on the profile - all of which relate to some from of sexual activity.
As a general rule, the law is pretty lax and i think we have it good in Ireland - particularly in Dublin. Most of cases of escorts being hassled or punters being questioned are outside Dublin (to my knowledge). The only crack down by the garad in Dublin recently has been on street escorting, which is a different ball game all together.
In summary, things are pretty safe thus far - especially in Dublin. I would suggest for your first time that you go see an escort that has plenty of reviews. This generally means that the girl is established and trustworthy. (It doesn't mean that other ladies aren't but the reviews are essentially like references.
So bite the bullet and lose yourself with one of the lovely ladies here.
