well, lets not forget lads that he did take chelsea to the champions league final a few years ago. also to be fair, he has managed portsmouth and west ham (2 shit teams), it's not always the manager's fault that the teams go down. their fault if they are shit.

but equally, he managed chelsea who may have finished 2nd place in the premiership that year? again, he managed a good team so he can't take all the credit for it. bottom line is that the players deserve a lot of credit/slack for where they end up too.

As a West Ham fan it troubled me when these 2 porn kings Gold & Sullivan appointed Grant.
Does anyone really see him being able to motivate anyone ? Apparently Scott Parker took team talks a lot.
I also believe that Martin O'Neill spoke to the 2 owners at Xmas & ran like hell. He wasn't interested in working for them, tells it's own tale.
Yes WH were crap this year but with a squad at least capable of being mid table - so yes it's the manager's fault & by extension the owner's fault too.
I've been a WH fan since the mid 70s & whilst that proves I'm a loyal sort it has been a tormenting loyalty.
I do love an afternoon in Upton Pk though, there's something unique about London's Eastend & it's inhabitants.
    Down but not out !!!

I take it Robbie Keane is back to spurs for a while after their relegation
