As for a book, well if I was certain that I would have access to electricity, I would bring a notebook with me and if not, as I would be trekking, it would have to be an atlas or tourist guide with maps of where I was travelling through. James Joyce is all find and good, but Ulysses is f**k all use when you don't want to lose your way.

If I were trekking (as apposed to being stuck on a dessert Island), I'd take the Count of Monte Cristo (Alexander Dumas).
Haven't read it in awhile, but tales of obsessive revenge tickle my fancy today!

Like I thought, I've changed my mind today. Today I want to take the 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy for trekking around the world. Seems more appropriate as i'm likely to feel like a Hobbit while doing the trekking bit. Although I'd like to pretend I was a wizard!!
