I bought E10 ready-to-go phone credit last week at a petrol station along with a bottle of water, walked to the car, absent-minded, and dropped the 'receipt' for my purchase in the bin as I passed. I'm very tidy. Only after I drove off did I realise it was the phone-credit slip I had just thrown away. I hadn't taken any receipt.

Did I go back? No. A little too embarrassing (and yucky) to go rooting around in the bin looking for it.

Dropped a £50 note in a shop in Crystal Palace quite a few years ago and didn't notice till half hour later. Went back to the shop and incredibly it was still on the floor. Very lucky I guess.
