Preference or Fetish?

Why is a preference for blondes considered a preference, but a preference for Asians is considered a "fetish"?

I read this question on another site and have to admit I have always called it an Asian Fetish as opposed to preference. Just wondering what your thoughts are. Or just like me you never really though about it until now.

I think both should be a preference rather than a fetish.

Refering to a soft spot for Asian girls as a fetish probably has to do with availability. In traditional Western Caucasian society - blondes are more plentiful than Asians.

Either way I think its still a preference.

I always associated a fetish with a sex act and not an affinity for a certain type of person.
