They are students so it's easy. Next time they have a house party grab eggs, bits of chairs, a shovel and a load of rubbish. Step 1: dump all the rubbish on the front lawn (if there is one), step two: throw all the eggs at the house, step three: break a few windows with the bits of chairs but leave some outside and step four: dig a big hole in the lawn or better still get them to do it. Finally step five: call the guards and the landlord and tell them how the students wrecked the place. Sorted

Lucy got there first! Your first port of call should be calling up whoever did your sound proofing and dishing out your best profanities!

Students are annoying sods (I should know- I am one ) but being the complaining neighbour isn't going to help. You need to get chatting to them when they are sober and explain. Tell them you have a baby in the house- that line used to always make me feel guilty and turn my music down lol.

If that doesn't work then invest in some lovely Bose speakers and play the most annoying music you can think off to drown them out. Anything they can do you can do better right?

If all fails I'd head down to Tralee and let Rachel look after you

May I suggest first step be check there are no security cameras around! That would be a hilarious headline- "Grumpy Neighbour Frames Students in Vandalism Shocker" !!

I went in and it took every bit of sense in me not to pull them out of the house by their hair! All I got was smart arse remarks!

Any suggestions what to do, I know next time I won't be able to control my temper and I will hurt them, so what do I do before I get myself into trouble?
break out your punting SIM and order from every takeaway in Limerick, make sure to order loads and get them to deliver it now. Someone else will punch them in the head for you after they won't pay, simples!!! also next time they want to order a takeaway they will have been blackmarked, it's the gift that keeps on giving.

in a more serious tone, when you call the Guards make sure you do it by calling 999 not the local station. That way it'll stay on the system until a car calls out, it can't be ignored by just adding it to the black book on the desk. A Guard told me this a few years ago and it never fails.

Nick the fuses to their electricity box, or tell them you belong to one of Limericks gang families, or that you work for the Drug Squad, one of those should work.
Come in she said "I'll give you shelter from the storm "

Our own privacy, peace and wellbeing should be our primary concern.
If the noise is only an occasional occurrence, I would live with it, but if a norm I would take some action.
If the students won't do anything and the landlord won't do anything, I would seek alternative accommodation.
It's a pain I know, but the last thing you need is to come home from a stressful work situation and experience more aggravation. Life is too short to worry about such things, and believe me problems like this can drag out for a long time!

Personally I am looking for a bolt-hole in the city centre for a couple of nights a week.
Narrowed it to two locations, one is in the tallest building with fantastic views over the city, while the other in a beautiful building beside a well known landmark. Each has it's own pros and cons (the ladies will know what I mean).

My point is that there are some beautiful areas and accommodation in all cities where one could live a happy and harmonious life without that aggravation you really don't need. For once look after your own needs, forgetting about pride and how it may look to others.

childish pranks are defo the way to go...they will assume it is fellow college students....also ordering a skip to their house is very funny, if u have a scanner u can send fake letters to thier house with logos giving them warnings.

also meant to say, try to find out which college they go to and when the exams start there, that's when you move out for 2 weeks leaving the stereo on and pressed up against the wall, plan a load of pranks for that time too. Nothing better than tears of a student who knows he's been bested and might fuck up his future because he was rude to a neighbour.

What ever you decide to do, you will have to see it through to the end. Otherwise they will see it as a weakness on your part and then really take the piss.
Confront them individually as they won't be up as cocky on their own.
Or maybe complain to the college or student union?
You have my sympathy as your home should be your castle.
