I always knew that Gaelic was the local language but I think I didn't have the exact idea how it is still strong (or maybe some have tried to keep it strong) which I think is beautiful
Recently I was talking to a lady from somewhere near Galway and she said she learnt English when she was already a teenager, I was amazed. An Irish person to which English was a second language (as it is for me)
I remember the first time I heard the Irish National Anthem, I had in mind that I was going to learn it... but I wasnt aware that it is in Gaelic... needless to say that I haven't learnt it in 5 years
