I see a lot off changes going on the whole continent and believe, it will not stop because a few big polititians try or will interfere , they underestimate the power of people who have enough ! Its not about politic anymore , its about human needs .
I fear that against all political consequences for Mubarak , he will make a bad decission on how to deal with this situation . Honecker also new he was finished , but he gave the order anyway , cause this kind of longterm dictators belive that they can go unpunished and unharmed no matter what ! They can sit down and talk peace in other countries , while they have their own people in chains of hunger , fear and desperation , they will not listen to anybody at the end . And that is scary !
Egypt people will walk into direction of democracy and will have free elections one day , but they will pay a high price ...
Thank you for your opinions .

I agree with you that a small part of me fears he will make a snap decision and order them to fire. I just maintain that if he does he is finished internationaly and I am certain that that matters to him, all Arabic leaders, in particular arabic dictators or which most of the area are that have a Suliman complex hardwired into them, what that is is the desire to seen by the arab world to be the protector of the arab verture against the enemys from outside, back a thousand years it was Suliman against the infadel crusadars, today it is against the infadel americans and zionist occupation. They all have it to a degree, Saddam had it in spades and a nutter but choose war to protray himself as the new Suliman, Mubarak chooses deplomacy with Isreal to get a better deal for the Palestinians and thats a noble effort but make no mistake its still done with an eye to looking like the new Suliman, defender of the arabs, he is just smart enough to try and do it within the framework of the modern world, you dont take a sword to the zionists or crusaders anymore, all you'll get is a B-52 unloading over your palace, you use a pen to sign a peace treaty that gets a state of Paletine set up and you have secured your place in history and more importantly to Mubarak a place in the hearts of every Muslim.

I do agree he might lash out but his mind on history and his Suliman complex will be the only things that might stop him.

I hope for the best and prepare for the worst , but deep inside I think he will snap if he dosnt get his will . I agree with your explanation , why he will not .
After all , he ist just a weak human beeing that has shown how ruthless , gruesome and selfish he can be. I hope I am wrong .

Tonight it looks like there's been a military coup, and that Mubarak has been ousted.

Strange days in the land of the Pharaohs...
