From the earliest days of military radio communication operators were told that there were 3 party's to every radio transmission:

    1. The sender
    2. The receiver.
    3. The interceptor (enemy)

Always assume that whatever you transmit: by e-mail, snail mail, mobile phone or public forum such as this can be intercepted.

The question is by who? and why?

If you're involved in organised crime, people trafficking or some such activity you'd be surprised what our very own PC Plod can interrcept and decrypt.

I would hope that most people here do not fall into this bracket. If you're a normal Joe just doing a little harmless posting, hoping not to get an infraction, and a little bit of punting then you're only woried about her indoors finding out. Unless she's Mrs James Bond or you're incredibly stupid, like not deleting your history or texts from the ladies, then you've nothing to worry about.

Relax and enjoy the lovely ladies here.

In for a penny,in for a pound. It's too late in the day for me to start worrying, I use my personal phone to contact escorts, I don't have another sim card. My pm's get very to the point, whoever may read them would havea great laugh or feel sick.
It would probably be a good idea for me to burn my computer and that would get rid of a very incriminating hard drive.
What are temporary files, can you delete them, if you did it individually, you would be there for the rest of the year.

Not knowing much about the art of computer science, ie - what exactly is an IP address, does the management of this site know who you are, or at least what your address is, I think they can narrow it down to the street where you live. If the shit ever hits the fan, perhaps a different government might want to sort these sites out and do a bit of naming and shaming or something on those lines. You can have a different sim card for your phone, but what can you do about an IP address, an escort once told me to can hide your IP address by tampering with the settings on your computer. What do the Garda know, it's not out of the question for the management of this site to have an arrangement with them, although doubt if that's the case.

Private messages is another issue, I'm pretty certain that the people on the top level of this can quite easily access all the private messages you have ever sent. That would make me want to bow my head down in shame, I've sent some pretty weird ones in my time, the mods mightn't be able able to access them, but I'm the top brass can.

So just how safe are we, what information has been collated about us all, some members mightn't give a toss, but one day in the future it could be your downfall.

Anybody got any answers that might put me at ease.

download Firefox (HERE), once installed to the Tor Project (HERE) download the Tor Button, this enables you to "hide" on the internet and will reroute your browsing making it impossible for people to tell who/what you are.

In my experience very little is impossible on the internet, but most people's lives within a browser are not worth the man hours of the people whose online capabilities are virtually limitless.

true, imo you are best to just log on to your neighbours wi-fi if you are worried about being found. If someone isn't clever enough to secure their broadband then chances you'll get caught mooching their broadband is slim
