I think that the Old Testament should be read by everyone. Its a bit of an eye-opener. Or not even the whole Testament just the 5Books of Moses (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuterononmy).

Want me to summarise it? God deliberately sends a bunch of Palestinians to Egypt as slaves for a few years then intimidates Pharaoh into releasing them. Then God sends these Chosen People on a bloody maraud around the middle east for a few hundred years slaughtering, raping and pillaging as they go. Also everytime they get tired of the bloodshed and stop God bullies them into doing some more. Thats pretty much it in its entirety

Also if you want to point out a really awkward passage to an Old Testament apologist, sometime, refer them to Judges Chapter 10 Verses 30 to 40, and honestly ask how are these verses supposed to be reconciled with a loving God.

And while we are on the subject: First Samuel Chapters 19, 20 and 21, read these and tell me what the relationship between David and Jonathan is coz I thought that sort of relationship was forbid in Leviticus...

Anyway sorry for rambling on, I'm waitin for the kettle to boil

Religion is the root of evil, most wars are fought over religion.
God either exists and doesn't care or doesn't exist.
Each to their own, I am not religious at all but I respect everyones choice. A bit of faith in whatever can help strengthing the mind in though times. The mind is a powerful tool if we can use it. I use meditation before sport to focus my mind. Some people use prayer. Never knock someones believes or push your own on them, its quite rude.
