Well actually he did, so I think that's it for Scotland. He came on at the end of a game on the wing, which is a total waste.
But Trap has mentioned him recently, and hinted that he may look at putting him in a central role. He has acknowledged his ability.

Aragh first Roy Keane and now this psycho.. is there something in the water down there in Cork?
Although I think Ireland is a right tw@ he's still miles better than anything else we have.
And as international football goes.. you can question his loyalty but just look at alot of the players that've played for Ireland over the years..
Ray Houghton - Scottish
James McCarthy - Scottish
Aiden McGeady - Scottish
Tony Cascarino - ?
Jason McAteer - Scouse
Clinton Morrisson - English
Fact is, like most footballers nowadays, Ireland is complete tool (tm benny) so I say bring him back if it means better chances of qualifying for a major tournament.
I agree with Scotus there are better and younger players available and besides the little shit would only have another grandma pop her clogs and fuck off again.

ps it could be worse you might be English like me and have to support the shower of shit we have at the moment.
I intend to live forever. So far, so good.

fools talk because they have to say something: Plato
You also must remember that neither of the two clubs he has been with ended up wanting to play him - and not even put him on the bench. I see a pattern here.
So there are clearly problems there.

McCarthy dedicated?! the Scottish lad's only reason in declaring for us was because it was a deathbed wish of his dying grandfather!
And to say he's a better player than Ireland is laughable.. Ireland was one of the hottest prospects in English football not 18 months ago, was voted Man City's player of the season 2009 ahead of Robinho, Elano, Dunne etc. He's just out of form at the moment.
McCarthy on the other hand has played 20 minutes of football for Ireland (in a friendly), has barely played this season for Wigan and has something like a grand total of 2 league goals to his credit.
Not to mention that McCarthy and Ireland are completely different types of players.
