Regulars .... Newbies.... Dilema.
How many times have we said - "feck this for a game of soldiers, from now on I'm sticking to the girls I know.". But that little greedy perverted angel on the other shoulder says "go on, find something new, go on, ya never know, she might be a cracker". So you give in and you go. Occasionally it is a cracker, so bonus. And this cracker is added to your list of regulars. Eventually you sit back smugly considering that you no longer need to take "the risk" any more.
