    Hey Heather

I am going on what I have been told by The New Futures Project, but I had a quick look on google and this is what i found. Anal sex is classed as the riskiest activity as far as I am aware..
SAFE SEX - a knol by H. Hunter Handsfield, MD
Transmission of Primary and Secondary Syphilis by Oral Sex --- Chicago, Illinois, 1998--2002

    Or-
During 2000--2002, of 962 persons with P&S syphilis, data were available for 627 (65.2%); 325 (51.8%) were MSM, 157 (25.0%) were heterosexual men, and 145 (23.1%) were heterosexual women. Overall, 86 (13.7%) persons indicated that oral sex was their only sexual exposure during the period they likely acquired syphilis: 66 (20.3%) of 325 MSM, 10 (6.4%) of 157 heterosexual men, and 10 (6.9%) of 145 heterosexual women (p<0.0001) (Table).

'Although it is possible to become infected with HIV through oral sex, the risk of becoming infected in this way is much lower than the risk of infection via unprotected sexual intercourse with a man or woman.

When giving oral sex to a man (sucking or licking a man's penis) a person could become infected with HIV if infected semen came into contact with damaged and receding gums, or any cuts or sores they might have in their mouth.

Giving oral sex to a woman (licking a woman's vulva or vagina) is also considered relatively low risk. Transmission could take place if infected sexual fluids from a woman got into the mouth of her partner. The likelihood of infection might be increased if there is menstrual blood involved or if the woman is infected with another sexually transmitted disease.

The likelihood of either a man or a woman becoming infected with HIV as a result of receiving oral sex is extremely low, as saliva does not contain infectious quantities of HIV.

More information can be found in our oral sex & HIV page.'

Of course, the only safe sex is with a condom.

    Thanks Lucy
Although that article seems to be concerned with only HIV and syphillis.
I'm going to have a look for some collective data of all 13 major oral risks which I have found and see if a transmission rate comparison is mentioned anywhere.
Any risk is too much for me personally, but it has me interested now!

I have just been trawling through as well, I can't seem to find comparative data but I did find this-

Oral Sex: What's the Real Risk

But all of this is heavily HIV orientated. I am trying to find the Gon/Hep B stats too.

Thank you Lucy for those links. I found them very interesting but I suppose at the end of the day even a good old snog can be dangerous.

There was only one time I didn't use protection when I was with a woman - she hit me on the head with a beer bottle and I wasn't wearing my crash helmet.

Any idea what the transmission rate percentages are? I can't seem to find any information on that. Only known risks linked to various sexual activities. The list of oral nasties gives me the heebie jeebies.
With the greatest respect Heather. BAREBACK is sex without condom OWO is oral without a condom it isnt sex .

My advice dont read medical books you will end up with everything or have nightmares starting with checking out the bed you are sleeping in.

You'd be mad to even consider bb, it is always worth while checking out other site which allow bb to be advertised before visiting a girl as it's not worth the risk.
Saying that I'd like for it to ie to allow bb to be advertised so you could avoid girls who offer the service as having bb listed as a favourite is like saying stay away! I'm a dirty scank who has no respect for her own health or anyone elses

As one of the links mentioned, it's quite hard to measure the transmission risks accurately. People don't usually engage in owo, for example, and nothing else. So if someone catches something, how do you know what activity he or she got it from?

“I wish you wouldn’t keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly; you make one quite giddy!”
“All right,” said the Cat; and this time it vanished quite slowly, beginning with the end of the tail, and ending with the grin, which remained some time after the rest of it had gone.

    Hiya Tiff
I don't read medical books at all, but as an escort I do need to know what the risks are. It would be irresponsible of me not to.
On one of the sites that I looked at for transmission rates, (and didn't find them) there are 11 known risks for a woman receiving vaginal sex and 7 for her performing oral on a man. These aren't minor risks either, they are the usual full blown nasties.
I know what OWO is, but don't understand your comment about it not being sex???
Anyway, here's one link in which I don't see any disease marked as very low risk, and it clearly states that condom usage reduces transmission risks. Obviously that is relevent for all sexual activity.

    Hiya Gordo
You are right in what you say regarding accurately assessing transmission rates, of course, but if someone tests positive for a disease from a throat swab, I think that one's pretty obvious lol xxx
