Supposedly, Irish Rail was pretty damn good back in the 50's; the minister of transport was really on the ball back then, but someone got a 'great' idea, and the rest is history

I actually came across that very same poem about six months ago......the only slight difference is that it was called Crabby Old Woman and was written from a female perspective.....but it was essentially the same poem. I'm not sure if it was actually written by an old person to express their views on the aging process and how they are perceived by younger people, but I have seen it used as part of a teaching program for the caring professions. It's an interesting and powerful poem and highlights why people should look beyond the infirmities etc. of the elderly.

Ah, god, you have me feeling wicked. Im not a oldie basher peeps, its just I had a dribbler on one side and a droner on the other, and no one wanted to share their sandwiches. Bah humbug. I shall be more patient.

I rather harshly asked the conductor why it takes more that 3 hours to travel anywhere in a country a sixth of the size of California? The train started to go backwards at one point. It was annoying, and then you have the parents with their darling little ones creating terror in the isles. Train travel is not managed well in this country. In Holland if I am in a train for 3 hours I will be getting out in France at the end of the journey.

You should have sat in the first carriage you would have gotten to your destination a little quicker.
