you are absolutly right , I agree 100% with you ! But who is there to stop them ? My opinion is that the law should be changed ! Legal age for prostitution should be at least 21 !

If you changed the legal age to 21, you would be invading a persons civil liberties I think; I know at 17 I was thinking solely of school and keeping a job, but I didn't have the 'material' world, and all it's trimmings breathing down my back, either like young people do now. To each their own, but I hope Garda takes whomever ran that brothel around back and beat the shit out of them!

Yes and no . The law is suppose to draw borders and I believe that young people today need different borders than older generations needed ! Time and upbringing changed , a lot you and me used to learn at home , young people dont get to learn no more . Also the input changed , there are much lower moral limits than just one generation ago , its easier for them to jump over the "line" to fullfill all your material desiers . So yes I still think the age limit needs to change , cause a lot of the young people need strickter borders ! If they are not guided by parents , morals or society the law needs to jump in .

I'm kind of hesitating with you on this one because by 21 I had been living on my own for several years, and if I would have wanted to get into this business back then, i would have been mad at the 21 restriction. There's was a great German movie called 'Christine' about a German girl, I think she was 14, and if I remember correctly,it was a true story, that movie had a profound effect on me in that it made me careful in whose company I kept. A lot of young people are surrounded by scum nowadays. I met some younger people when I was in Dublin, and I just thought ''thank God' these people aren't my peers. It was all about the drugs and having the latest status symbols. But advertisers target them because they have disposable incomes and they're young and impressionable . It's also a cultural thing, most of us come from 'consumer' societies where the motto is ''Consume or be doomed''

The more I think of it the more I think your idea is right change the law to 21; anything younger this business is just a breeding ground for degenerates

    Me too..........

To the best of my knowledge this was published in 2007 and is the most up to date version available and does contain provisions for the prosecution of a person engaging with a person under the age of 18

Head 5: Soliciting or paying for purpose of sexually exploiting a child

    (5) A person guilty of an offence under this head is liable on conviction on
    indictment -

    (b) in case the child was 15 years of age or over but under 18
years of age, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3
    years.

So the reality is that any man that had sex with this 17 year old girl is guilty of RAPE! I wonder how many are going to be charged??

Just to let you know that E-I have a strict '18 or over' policy regarding escorts that wish to advertise.

    Correct Samlad...........

Escort Ireland Escort Advertising Terms & Conditions for Irish Independent Escorts, Irish Touring Escorts, Irish Escort Agencies

But the problem with the information in the earlier link is that there is confusion between the legal age of concent and the legal age for escorting

The legal age of concent in this country is 17, but the legal age for escorting is 18.........

Legal Information, the law regards escorts, prostitution and brothels in Ireland - Escort Ireland

E-I have covered themselves by only allowing advertisers over 18, and have covered themselves with a disclaimer on the legal information page.........

Please note that the following information is not intended to provide advice from Escort-Ireland.com (E-I) and in no way are E-I responsible for the content or the usage of this information.

But it probably does need to be cleaned up..........
