I've been in Universities for the last 20 years and there are a lot of options open to you that they don't make public because the numbers are limited.

For what it's worth, I did a degree in chemistry and I still get night terrors from it. I would advice scratching it off your list...
Ok, cannot wait for your PM, thank you

From the ones I applied directly, I received so far just an interview for a Complementary Health Therapy course.
If you can believe it, this is a 2 years full time course !!! I think I prefer a 3 years part time degree, seems more rewarding.
It doesnt make a difference you can still apply to other courses and some courses can be taliormade to suit you needs.
I myself have gone back to do a four year degree course and am at present in my final year.
Look around teh internet and even drop in to the socail welfare and ask to speak to the back to education department rhey might be able to point you in the right direction

Hmm, depends on you I suppose. I love the idea of Chemistry and I loved it in school but doing a degree in it just consists of memorising lists and lists and lists of things.. Not for me I'm afraid..... Physics & Maths were much more enjoyable and rewarding..
    Anything's a dildo if you're brave enough.

All from level 6 to level 8, in Business, Accounts, Chemistry, Complementary Health Therapy etc ...

I was surprised to receive this morning a text message, an email and a letter about me getting a place on a level 8 course in Accounting & Finance. I am really tormented by this. This was my last application course with CAO, my first one being of a same type, in Business.

Working as a masseuse and getting a higher specialisation in accounts & finance
Who am I kidding? I already have a lower qualification there (level 6) and I do nothing with it.

Also ... if I actually accept this course, I won't have as much time for my massage services, which are my only bread and butter at the moment. That means I might find myself really short on cash sometimes.

There is the option that I go back to escorting for a while, so I can be able to manage both my studies and get also enough money to sustain myself. But for some reason I am a little afraid to do this

    Do you see my torment?
Studying without a hope I can do something with the qualification in the real life, plus the money issues while I'll do it.
Not studying, meaning that I have no idea what I'll do in a few years time ...

I feel like this now ...

Why not study by distance learning? Its pricey and there are some very reputable colleges doing this. Consider it because your time is 100% yours with no restraints on classes etc. You dont have to show up for classes if they are abroad.

Also the college system in Ireland is like everything else here. Its corrupt.

    Westside.

I don't think that is necessarily true. A lot of people end up doing something different than what they studied for, but that does not mean that the course did not help them in many ways.

Even the act of obtaining a qualification is a great confidence booster, and can be a great achievement. Courses can teach you good habits and skills which you can use in other areas. Add to this the environment, which can be stimulating, and can introduce you to a host of other ideas.

Oh you do talk through your hole sometimes...
I've worked and studied in colleges all over the world and we have one of the most straight up and productive college systems out there. There is very little government funding, especially in the Sciences, so little scope for corruption.
You just need to look at the hordes of recruiters from every corner of the globe who descend on the technology park in Cork for every graduation..

Absolutely. Even though biology also involved a lot of memorizing, there seemed to be a logic behind it. Organic chemistry and many of the equations seem to be just learning lists of randomness, literally like playing Simon in arcade.

And I hate it how they mark you down if you don't bother having the tiniest most unimportant detail in the experiments, or didn't answer the question the way they like. Or perhaps you put in a different definition of a crystal lattice to what's word-for-word in the book because of your understanding of it but they didn't like that. If they're wondering why boys don't do as well at leaving cert, then this could explain a lot of it.
