I did read some posts in the past that had real sparkle or informational value, there are not so many of these posts now, just a very few.

Most of the older big posters are gone and it must be a good reason for this.

I don't think all retired ... so maybe some just don't feel very encouraged to join the new circles.

I don't know ... just a suggestion here. We all welcome the newbies here.
Could they also welcome the older posters, so to speak ???

Sometimes I feel too like a stranger but the thing is that I don't care too much, so please don't pity me because there is no need
that may well be true SD and I take ur point but to say that people are being "pushed out" is strecthing it a bit,,as i said there is pleanty of room here for all posters to sparkle or to just have a laugh,,blame cannot be apportioned to a "crap clique" because some do not think the threads are not informative or what they expect..i will add this anyone can post anything so if anyone wants informative threads create them,,nobody is pushing anyone out...

That's what happens when you dedicate your digital life to one forum..

The internet is huge lads.. Full of forums on every topic imaginable.

If you wanna see what this place will be like in a few years when the mods have joined together to form a single entity and begin to develop a rudimentary intelligence, head on over to boards.ie

If you wanna see what a life without mods is actually like head on over to 4chan.org. You will want a stiff drink first though and I'm not responsible for medical costs incurred..

If you wanna see a really well run board where you never see sight nor sound of a mod but any thread heading south is swiftly and silently pruned, head on over to peoplesrepublicofcork.com

While you're about it - give twitter a go, start up a facebook account and Google with Bing. Widen your circle of internet chums!

Well Poggo, you have been a member here since 2006 and have seen quite a few people come and go I would imagine and can make quite an informed opinion on this subject, so I would be inclined to think that when you say you dont think "crap cliques" are running the place "pushing" people out, it is a true and fair reflection.

If others feel this is the case, why not post more instead of complaining about it on a thread. If these people are such "big" "important" "influential" posters, surely they wouldnt be put off by some newbies trying to find their feet and join in with everyone else on the site

Oh and if you do head over to 4chan.org, make sure you don't piss them off. Especially those guys rarely seem to take too kindly to that.

I wasn't referring to you Lucy, as I said to you just now, your posts are usually very interesting and enjoyable, you are quite a clever poster and most entertaining.

    Hehe, no way.. Me too..
There's a proposal for a new fish keeping site on the stackexchange network here - Proposal for Aquarist / Fishkeeping StackExchange site - Meta Stack Exchange

If it happens it will be super awesome. It will blow all other fish keeping sites out of the water!!
    See what I did there???

OK, I would put it differently guys.

Rover thread is not new. Even Punterminator has his nostalgia fuelled thread a little while back.
There might be more, as this shows that sometimes people do miss the past, is just human nature.

I understand the way the community works online, interaction being the key.

But if I might be allowed to talk about those things a little less technical and a little more humanly, come in guys, this is Rover we're talking about. We all like this guy, escorts and client's alike. He feels a little unappreciated now, maybe even a little down.

Correct him if you think he is wrong or if he is using too acid words, but please don't put the doggie down.

We all can feel like that one day ...
