I never implied that I was CSJ, I am CSJ.

Since you're no longer a moderator your opinions are just as valuable as anyone else's on here.

By that reasoning I will respect yours if you are willing to respect mine. I sincerely doubt that you have it in you though.
But its still more valuable than a previously banned member isnt it???

Here is my opinion for what it is worth..

My view has always been that Mods shouldn't post in a normal way either as themselves or with a different profile....

HOWEVER... I do also hold the opinion that the people who are asked to be mods are generally the people who are frequent posters and and who contribute a lot to the site. Therefore I don't hold it against the mods when their opinions show through their role... It does frustrate me, but I am starting to realise that they (like us all) are human...

Therefore, I would suggest that community mods would have less powers of sanction to other members, i.e. that they could at best report bad behaviour etc to the managers rather than having the power to edit posts and ban members.

If this (brilliant) idea were to be adopted, there are some difficulties, namely 1. if the managers were off duty and the members knew that, they could really play havoc with the boards overnight. 2. Personalities would be at risk of really clashing... e.g. if Samlad took a dislike to me, say, anything I said would be subject to his viewpoint. I know that is the case now, but I was just thinking ig mods had the ability to overrule a decision that they thought was unnecessary or over the top, that might help..

I am a member of other boards and I NEVER see this amount of discord. Perhaps it is in the nature of the subject matter of this board that it causes so much friction..

I posted something recently on mutual respect and it seemed to be well received... but whether it is workable or not is another story...

Mods have codes of conduct and procedures in place and the fact that we may not get on with some members does not mean we can edit or ban them without sufficient reasons. If anyone has any griviences with our work they are free to go over our heads and complain to management.
