I was just thinking to myself about what game did I play in the past and really had an effect on me? And I think I would have to say the first time I saw and played Doom on the Magadrive it totally blew me away, I really do think it was a massive breakthrough and paved the way for all modern shoot ‘em ups.

I think it was the first 3 dimensional first person shooter and it certainly opened the gates for such games as Timesplitters and Unreal Tournament

For me Sam it was the genuine excitement, graphics and speed of the game at the time that did it for me, I really think it set the bar up a few notches.

Eventually I just gave up and started using save-states. Starting again every time I died. And it was still extremely difficult!!!

I picked up Mafia 2 for the PC this morning. There goes my social life for the weekend. It's pizza and coke and red sleepless eyes for me all the way.

Also, Dead Rising 2 out on September 24th for X-Box and PC. Groovy.
