Just take it as it comes, you don't have to reply, you can just ignore the post or silly picture if you so desire. I agree a thread can be soon changed into a running conversation between a couple of members, which becomes terribly fucking boring. But let him who has not sinned, cast the first stone. I dont think anybody here takes it too seriously, its just that if someone has raised a topic we should be civil enough to keep it on topic and when another issue arises from said topic to maybe start another thread about that new issue.

one should not be expected to police their own threads for off topic entries - some topics are raised to get others input re the topic and topic raiser may be at work or offline a few days and wish to come back later to see input and not a picture of dancing llamas or a discussion about the price of onions in clonkilty market.

There used to be a lot of intelligent posters that were actually witty and at the same time keep a serious topic on track, nowadays there is just childish bullshit smeared with stupid images any fool can find on google, mostly feckin cats . Very few actually interesting posters left, couldn't be arsed anymore..
