Well then i reccomend we try the old ways for a while and see how well it will work, the old days are gone the volume of traffic is too great so u have to get the cars off the street into the carparks as there just physically would be no where to put them.

Some of those clamping companies are ridiculous. I was visiting someone in hospital and when I came out I saw some old womans car was clamped. Her daughter had to bring her into hospital in an emergency and parked at the entrance and when she came out she was clamped. Its all comission to them they dont care about your sitiuation

It was only for shits and giggles...of course we need some sort of parking laws but i think there are better ways than clamping. There are a few places in galway that they are begging to clamp you...they spend the whole day just looking for some unfortunate person that ticket that has run over a minute or two and they swoop in.

The truth is most illegal parking is done out of sheer laziness, in most city centers u are at most 5 mins walk from a car park,
in Cork city centre every where u turn there is a Car park with spaces avaliable. Its on very rare occasions that they will be
anywhere near full to capacity (xmas etc)

Can u explain to me how the guy that clamped the car was supposed to know what had happened. He just came along saw an illegally parked car clamped it. It isnt his job to run into the hospital to find out who owns it

Yeah places like hospitals should not be paid parking...the last thing on a persons mind if someone is having an operation or is seriously ill is having the fear of their car being clamped...its a joke.

There was another time I rememebr that a woman parked accross the road from the hospital in a supermacs car park when she returned to the car she found t clamed. Turns out this woman was heavilly pregnent and had to go into the hospital to have a check done on her unborn child.

Still her circumstances were not taken into account and the clamp stood
