He spent large sums of money to get sunderland of of the championship and when he did he had a year and a half where sunderland barely stayed up and he walked away mid way through his second season. He took ipswich who had finished 8th the previous season and nearly sent them down.It has been well documented that is management style is abrasive and he does'nt get on with most of his squad. No doubt he is a great philoshor of the game but seeing as the only highlights of last season were his interviews he won't be in management for long.Great players don't make great managers look at tony adams one of my favourite players, brillant defender in his day but an awful manager.

He brought Sunderland to the permiership in one season... It might be better to say he is not yet premier league quality as a manager... One bad season at Ipswich does not make him a bad manager.. There was a reason Ipswich were looking for a new manager in the first place.. Next season will tell...
As for Saipan.. He did say he should have stayed... eventually. ( I remember it from somewhere.. but cant remember the source.. its ages ago.)
I see him as someone to respect.. He really doesnt care if you or I like him.. or agree with him.. He speaks his mind.. Like everyone else.. he is not always right.. but mostly he is spot on.
He is on borrowed time at ipswich, heard recently that he is clinging to his job there..i forgot to mention i do find him an honest individual who speaks his mind and he was spot on with his analysis of the england team but i feel his true calling will be punditry.

Looked seriously pissed off, very funny but as i said before the last thing he said in the interview was 'get over it' something he should do about saipan..thats the point i was trying to get across.

I think Keano, savage player as he was, is becoming a grumpy old man. Doesn't seem to have a good word to say about anyone.

Could replace dunphy when he calls it time in two years but he simply wouldn't be allowed on any channel in england..you have to be a suck up and yes man to be a pundit over there.

He did at 1:34. I do think people had too much sour grapes over the French match and agree with what he's saying about Henry, but not insulting players like that saying they "couldn't take it to that next step" and saying Given was partly at fault for that goal.

But then he apologised for it for some reason, contradicting himself, then he came out with this about England. Crazy.

The reporter who was questioning keane happened to bring it up trying to compare the two and keane then started up about saipan.

Sometimes I get annoyed by Keane.....I thought his book was crap. But then I think about it.....he is by far the most interesting man in football to listen to. He gives his opinion and that's rear in football.....not even Mourinho does that (he just talks shit!).
I agree with some of his points.....but England have more world class players than Rooney. He defeneded Capello....but who decided to bring Heskey? Capello!
People should remember when Roy gave that press conferance about the Henry handball, he was under alot of pressure and then some knobhead English journalist comes along and trys to patronise over "poor Ireland".....how do people think he would respond??
At the end of day loyk....he's the greatest Irish footballer ever imo. Only Giles comes close and maybe Brady but Keane is clearly the best for me. He changed the country's attitude towards sport and we should appreciate him for that.
