That’s deadly man! Why mad tho? most vocalists/artists worth their salt are much better live. A lot of the performance quality can depend on the sound engineer too.
Live only works when you’re actually there. I know that sounds obvious, but what I mean is at home or wherever, I won’t listen to live albums/recordings.
Studio productions are far superior. Some bands are utter shite live tho… Oasis being one of them. not that I’m a big fan anyway.
Well this guy whoever he was was damn good that day, production is one thing but when someone can enhance the sonic detail to a point where it's next level is a different thing.
I agree 100% man! But don’t get me wrong, the soundman can make or break a gig in big or small venues but it all comes down to the raw talent, energy, stage presence and charisma of the performer… Aretha Franklin, Bruce Springsteen, Tina Turner or John Lennon could be sitting in the corner of your local “unplugged” belting out a number no bells and whistles needed to enhance that spiritual, chills shivers neck hair standing on end, otherworldly kinda feeling.
sounds like a deadly gig! i’d loved to have seen Portishead live back then. I got that same buzz watching Depeche Mode live in the Point ‘93/94 blown away by it! Same with the Stones in Croke Park 2018.
