Brave man a legend in his lifetime.

Also a Poet and a songwriter

    Poem
There's an inner thing in every man,
Do you know this thing my friend?
It has withstood the blows of a million years,
And will do so to the end.

It was born when time did not exist,
And it grew up out of life,
It cut down evil's strangling vines,
    Like a slashing searing knife.

It lit fires when fires were not,
And burnt the mind of man,
    Tempering leandened hearts to steel,
From the time that time began.

It wept by the waters of Babylon,
And when all men were a loss,
    It screeched in writhing agony,
And it hung bleeding from the Cross.

It died in Rome by lion and sword,
    And in defiant cruel array,
When the deathly word was 'Spartacus'
    Along with Appian Way.

It marched with Wat the Tyler's poor,
    And frightened lord and king,
And it was emblazoned in their deathly stare,
    As e'er a living thing.

    It smiled in holy innocence,
    Before conquistadors of old,
So meek and tame and unaware,
Of the deathly power of gold.

It burst forth through pitiful Paris streets,
    And stormed the old Bastille,
And marched upon the serpent's head,
And crushed it 'neath its heel.

It died in blood on Buffalo Plains,
And starved by moons of rain,
Its heart was buried in Wounded Knee,
But it will come to rise again.

It screamed aloud by Kerry lakes,
As it was knelt upon the ground,
And it died in great defiance,
As they coldly shot it down.

It is found in every light of hope,
It knows no bounds nor space
It has risen in red and black and white,
It is there in every race.

It lies in the hearts of heroes dead,
    It screams in tyrants' eyes,
It has reached the peak of mountains high,
It comes searing 'cross the skies.

It lights the dark of this prison cell,
    It thunders forth its might,
It is 'the undauntable thought', my friend,
That thought that says 'I'm right!'

    Song

    Southern people
The establisment and the Bulk of the people did little to help in the north
The factors would have been state/media proganda and afraid of death/prison
the Poor tactics used by PIRA(e.g. car bombs in shopping areas)

    PIRA tactics
The goal of "brits out" was very unrelaistics it took no account of the
Unionist population which had been there for 300 years.

    Repartion
So the startegy should have been Repartion
1: Repartion approx 40-50% of north transfered to south
Mainly nationlist majority areas (south armagh Fermangh)etc.
2: Population movement by commisson. A policy of swapping people who really want to life in their ethic
state. This is not as extreme as it sounds and there are many of examples of peaceful
movements of poulation after WW1 and WW2.
For example, north east antrim is a majoirty rural Irish they could swap their farms
    with Loyalist in fermangh.
3:A bill of rights for the minority left in both states
for example the south Protestents would not have to learn irish and the catholic church would be separted from state.

What coulkd have happend after 1969-1971 instead of the bloody dirty quagmire that developed.

The goal of "brits out" abandoned, and the goal of repartion instead by PIRA
The whole tribe united in a national movement/effort for victory.
PIRA supplied by the south govertment covertly with money, Training, weapons, volunteers and a safe haven.
The tactics Used should have strictly avoivded targetting civilain like in 1956-62 campagin.
The britsh would have been forced to bargaining table in a few months.
There would have had two options
    1:except neogations for repartion
2:esclate the war with south very unlike in 1970s that this would have been picked.

Its arguable that a non-violent campign of extreme civil dis-obebienece could have achieved Repartion
Its possible in future that the good friday agrement could be replaced by a repartion agreement.
although who knows what the future holds.

No matter what your beliefs are that’s fair enough but some of the comments that have been said about Bobby Sands on here are nothing short of a disgrace, disgusting comments by some people who know Jack shit about the six counties. Not funny and totally out of order.
